Play off the championship tees, and this monster has a course rating of 75.9 and a distance of 7,100 yards. Located about 75 minutes north of the resort in Southport, NC, it is part of a complex of courses in an upscale residential resort. Designed by P.B. Dye and opened in 1991, the Gauntlet is laid out in a marshy area, and features bulkheads, pot bunkers, multilevel fairways, assorted grasses and multiple tee placements. It even offers caddies. |
